Microscopic Models of Heavy Ion Interactions
An introduction to dynamical microscopic models of hadronic and nuclear interactions is presented. Special emphasis is put in the relation between multiparticle production and total cross-section contributions. In heavy ion collisions, some observables, considered as signals of the production of a Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP), are studied. It is shown that they can only be described if final state ...
متن کاملPhotochemical degradation of azure-b with sulphate radical ion generated by peroxydisulphate ion with cupric ion
In this paper, the photochemical degradation of azure-b by Cu2+/S2O82− process has beenpresented. Cu2+ as photocatalyst and S2O82− ion as photooxidant used in this process. Atextremely low concentrations, cupric ion showed true catalytic activity in the overall process. The influence of various parameters on the performance of the treatment process has beenconsidered, such as pH, concentration o...
متن کاملMeasurements of Electrical Potentials and Ion Fluxes
Experimental technics are described which permit the measurements of stable electrical potential differences across the cell membrane of single renal tubule cells and across single tubules. The inside of the tubule lumen is normally found to be electrically negative to the outside, while the cell interior is found to be negative to both the peritubular fluid and the tubule lumen. Such electrica...
متن کاملInteraction of intracellular ion buffering with transmembrane-coupled ion transport
The role of the Na/Ca exchanger in the control of cellular excitability and tension development is a subject of current interest in cardiac physiology. It has been suggested that this coupled transporter is responsible for rapid changes in intracellular calcium activity during single beats, generation of plateau currents, which control action potential duration, and control of intracellular sod...
متن کاملActive stabilization of ion trap radiofrequency potentials.
We actively stabilize the harmonic oscillation frequency of a laser-cooled atomic ion confined in a radiofrequency (rf) Paul trap by sampling and rectifying the high voltage rf applied to the trap electrodes. We are able to stabilize the 1 MHz atomic oscillation frequency to be better than 10 Hz or 10 ppm. This represents a suppression of ambient noise on the rf circuit by 34 dB. This technique...
